Ride Report
I took a day trip to Nevada City for a little change of scenery and some extra warmth. I hadn't been to Nevada City since 2011 for Stage 2 of the Tour of California. That was a bittersweet day for me because it was the day after the stage around Lake Tahoe was cancelled. I was excited to see the race, but still disappointed about the day before. (You may remember that Stage 1 was cancelled at the last minute. I had the perfect spot near Emerald Bay and was upset that I wasn't going to see the pros ride on stretches of road that I've ridden so often. Here is the CyclingNews article from that day.)
Today there was some kind of Mardi Gras parade going on in Nevada City, which altered my route a bit but provided a little extra entertainment value when I was passing through downtown Nevada City. Here is the route, which I found using a simple RWGPS search. It ended up being the perfect route for this time of year. It had a decent amount of climbing and the weather wasn't too cold since the highest point of the day was under 3,000 feet. I should go back later this summer and hit some of the bigger climbs in the area.
